An invasive species is an organism that causes ecological harm in an environment where it is not native. Invasive species are of particular concern for the conservation of islands like Galapagos which have high levels of endemic species (those not found anywhere else on Earth). Particularly harmful invasive species in Galapagos include the Philornis downsi fly, hill raspberry plant or ‘mora’, and small mammals such as rats. http://bit.ly/2TOerJz
