The London International Dive Show (LIDS) has been evolving over the past few years in combination with a wide variety of outdoor activities, all designed to appeal to a wide cross-section of adventurous people. And in February the Show takes its next step forward.

The Oceans Festival has developed to provide somewhere for people of all ages to learn something new and be inspired to protect their environment. And as diving is such an integral part of the oceans, both as a tool for exploration and research as well as for fun, LIDS 2017 is set to form part of this year’s Oceans event, bringing you the best that diving has to offer under one roof.

One attraction of the Oceans Festival, for example, will be Whalefest, which runs the Incredible Oceans Live project with the World Cetacean Alliance. And everything to do with the oceans will be co-located at the ExCeL Centre with what is now the Outdoor Adventure & Camping Show, the London Bike Show and the Triathlon Show.

Whatever interests you and your party besides diving, your tickets provide access to all areas. And as it’s all happening during half-term holidays, the event is ideal for a family day out.

With so many potential new divers visiting the four-day event from 16-19 February – some 50,000 people attended this year’s – the enlarged Try-Dive Pool will again provide a focal point for everyone, with expert instructors offering visitors of all ages a gentle introduction to scuba free of charge.

There will of course be an inspiring array of special guest presenters speaking in the Ocean Theatre near the LSD Try-Dive Pool. Plus all your favourite Dive Show features, such as the PhotoZone for everything connected with underwater photography, the New Product Showcase to set your dive-gear antennae quivering, the British Isles Experience and the Caribbean Village.

The Oceans Festival runs from 1-8pm on Thursday 16, from 10-5 on Friday 17, from 9-6 on Saturday 18 and 9-5 on Sunday 19.

Bear in mind that there will be a huge amount to see, and that presentations will vary from day to day, and plan accordingly.
